Shop Notes - May & June 2025
We're back with a bit of a delayed Shop Notes vlog. It's been a BIG coupl'a months, and here's what's been going on:
Collapsible Fishing Net Presale Success!
Our Collapsible Fishing Net Presale went even better than I was expecting! Our run of 100 presale nets sold out within a couple of days, and the overrun we ordered has also almost completely sold out. We're ordering more and should have these in-stock regularly going forward. You can get your Collapsible Fishing Net here and watch the tutorial video here.
One issue we've been dealing with over the last week has been some brass snaps failing on double-layer leather products, including the net strap. I think I've fixed this going forward, and I double-checked all of the nets before they shipped out, but if you have this issue please contact me through the website and I'll send you a replacement.
Retail Packaging and Trade Shows
The month of May was non-stop work as I designed and built a new wholesale system from the ground up, in preparation for our first-ever trade show. I spent the first week of June in Greenville SC at the 360 Adventure Collective show, and had a great experience talking with owners and buyers from independent outdoor retailers across the southeast! I'm very happy to welcome seven new stores who are now selling Daggerfish products:
- Outdoor Supply Company, Hickory, NC
- Poppy's Mountain, Murphy, NC
- Nantahala Outdoor Center, Gatlinburg, TN
- Wood's Trading Co., Gardendale, AL
- OV Yonder Outfitters, Grahm, NC
- Hellbender Outfitters, Elizabethton, TN
- Surf Wind and Fire, New Bern NC
Stop by these stores and check out the Daggerfish products available, and support local independent outdoor retailers along with US gear makers!
If you own or manage an indepenedent outdoor retailer, Daggerfish is now accepting inquiries for new retailers! Go to daggerfishgear.com/wholesale to submit your inquiry form.
Merch?
Over the years, many people have asked me to make Daggerfish branded merch like t-shirts and hats. I've always been hesitant, because I dont' want to make clothes and didn't want to just slap the Daggerfish logo on something generic. But this trade show I found out about Recover, an apparel company that makes custom clothing from recycled clothes reconstituted into new fabric.
This is the first time I've been excited about the idea of offering merch, so I'm looking into the options they offer. Keep an eye out for more info and potentially a presale for merch coming up this summer.
Vacation June 20-July 1
I'll be taking a much-needed vacation the last week of this month. Orders will still be shipping out, but may be delayed a day or so. As always, thanks for your support!
