Occasionally, our regular supply of wood will turn up something special - spalting. This natural marbling effect is caused by the interaction of different kinds of fungi with the wood grain, and produces spectacular variation in color and pattern. We reserve these pieces for limited runs, and each will be completely unique to you.
A limited release of only 6 Spalted Handreels are available. Each kit comes with 30 yards of 6-lb copolymer fishing line, a lead-free tackle kit, and a wooden hand reel with 3.8 cubic inches of built-in storage space. Want an upgrade? Add-on a Leather Reel Cover for just $5.
